_*About the Position:*_
* *
To supervise, plan, coordinate and direct a team within the shared services area in order to maintain a smooth and efficient function in line with departmental and National Grid requirements. At the higher levels this role will translate functional policy by designing procedures that drive greater efficiencies and performance within their own team and for National Grid. Analyze data and activities to provide relevant and up to date information to support decision-making and the effective working of National Grid. At the higher levels this role will also design and implement procedures and policies within their area of work to improve the working of National Grid.
_*Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): *_
* Supervise a culturally diverse senior level workforce through coaching, counseling and team building to ensure tasks are carried out in an efficient manner
* Monitor performance of allocated staff including issues relating to sickness, discipline and poor standards of work in order to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and effectively and feedback is given timely.
* Review and monitor the work of others; providing technical guidance when required, to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information.
* Manage the day to day relationship with relevant internal parties and external agencies and bodies in order to understand requirements, deliver appropriate, customized solutions and advice, and build cross-functional working in line with National Grid policies and processes.
* Represent National Grid externally with city and state agencies in order to ensure efficient processes and performance related to funds due the company's low income customers
* Monitor relevant shared services processes in order to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Develops a climate providing motivation, participation and opportunities for employee initiative
* Execute instructions and requests, plan and organize resources and make appropriate arrangements to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and in line with relevant policies and processes.
* Monitor all Service Level targets and Key Performance Indicators to ensure compliance.
* Building and Strengthening the team environment, setting expectations to improve work performance and ensure representatives are complying with standards set for the by regulatory bodies.
* Oversee the operational workload of an allocated team within shared services ensuring allocated staff is fully utilized in order to deliver against agreed program of work.
* Promote and implement procedural best practice in order to ensure all working practice (and where relevant, health and safety standards) are compliant with National Grid policies and regulatory requirements.
* Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to obtain and share information on social care opportunities and developments, as well as provide technical advice and build bases of influence.
* Manage and prioritize referrals from email, vendors, call center, field and other internal communications in line with policies.
* Ensure processes, practices and procedures are followed are in line with National Grid policies and compliant with legislation and regulations.
* Develop and manage the approach to special cases (e.g. customers with special needs) ensuring a tailored and effective response in line with expectations.

*_Knowledge & Experience Requirements:_*
A Bachelor's degree or 3 years of supervisory experience within a Customer Centric and transactional organization.*
Experience of leading a team of represented personnel involved in providing a transactional support service in support of National Grid's objectives*
Must have a good working knowledge of tools and systems within designated area. Prior experience with DSS policy & procedures strongly preferred.
Proficient in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of regulatory requirements set forth by the regulatory agencies
Experience in Emergency Response Procedures and Business Continuity plans as they relate to the area
