Summary


The Rescue Mission is a client-focused non-profit organization
thathas been changing lives for more than
130 yearswith a diverse array of programs and
thrifty stores seeking a highly motivated Full-timeSenior Accountantwith an enthusiasm to grow and learn. The
successful candidate will be a detail oriented, research driven, member of the
finance department and Rescue Mission Family. The Senior Accountant will report
directly to the agency's Chief Financial Officer and will be able to support
the accounting team in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting
Department. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for reconciling account
balances, bank statements maintaining general ledger in accordance with GAAP
and aspects of monthly closing of financial transaction activities for all of
the Companies affiliates, including producing journal entries.


Job Responsibilities





+ Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of
all balance sheet accounts with supporting documentation



+ Prepare accounting related entries to registers,
and journals



+ Provide detailed analyses and explanations of
all transactions



+ Assist in the annual audit and ensure completion
of all schedules required for annual audit



+ Proactively identify and assist to resolve
accounting related issues



+ Aid in the year-end posting of entries and close
out



+ Protects organization's value by keeping
information confidential



+ Collaborate with teammates and management to
identify, design, and implement process improvements for greater efficiency



+ Annual budget participation


Education Requirements







+ Bachelor's degree in
accounting: computer experience required






Professional Required Skills





+ Minimum 2 years of
professional experience in accounting; Computer experience required



+ Experience
with computerized ledger systems



+ Advanced
knowledge of Excel



+ Strong
problem solving and analytical skills



+ Attention to Detail



+ Deadline Oriented
