**RESPONSIBILITIES:**


The MBD Compression Engineer will work with global, cross disciplinary teams to apply model based design and verification tools and methods to create the next generation of compressors for a full range of HVAC/R equipment and systems for buildings and transport applications. Her/his main responsibilities include:


+ Develop physics-based thermo-fluid models of compressors used in HVAC&R systems

+ Perform CFD analysis of compression gas flow path (steady & unsteady)

+ Develop fluid/structure interaction methods & models

+ Create reduced order models

+ Perform model calibration, validation, and physics-based analysis of system behaviors.

+ Provide expertise in heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and thermal management system analysis in the development of next generation high efficiency and environmentally friendly HVAC&R compressors & systems

+ Troubleshoot and resolve numerical issues in simulations

+ Develop and build tools to aid in design process delivery, speed, and quality


**Qualification:**


+ Heat transfer and two-phase flow expertise and thermodynamic cycle analytical skills

+ Experience with vapor-compression refrigeration or power generation systems

+ Experience with positive displacement & centrifugal compression/turbomachinery

+ Good communication skills and team working experience

+ Software programming experience

+ Willing to work on variety of projects based on business unit needs


**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**


+ Knowledge of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and computational structural mechanics (CSM)

+ Familiarity with model development tools like Modelica/Dymola

+ Familiarity with Visual Basic, Matlab, and machine learning techniques


**Education:**


+ Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 0-2 (for P2), or Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of specific experience with a GPA of 3.2 or higher
